The following courses are included in the Software Acquisition and Integration Graduate Certificate:
- SSW 540 Fundamentals of Software Engineering
- SSW 564 Software Requirements Analysis and Engineering
- SYS 605 Systems Integration
- SSW 687 Engineering of Large Software Systems
Today’s software systems are not built monolithically, but integrated from a mix of existing legacy components, acquired commercial components and newly developed components. This graduate certificate provides a credential of a student’s mastery of the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in and lead complex software-enabled system development and acquisition programs.
These four courses can be applied towards a Master of Science in Software Engineering.
Audience: This course sequence would be of interest to a formally educated computer professional who aspires to a managerial career and needs the skills required to understand systems aspects of software intensive systems and an integration team and evaluate the resulting software product relative to customer needs. This program is also tailored to systems engineers who need practical knowledge of software concepts and students who pursue a career in business management in software intensive industries.
